Tobogganing on the Pilatus

Winter sports fans will be enthralled by this wonderful toboggan run through the woods on the northern spur of the Pilatus.

Route

Initially somewhat bumpy and steep, this toboggan run starts at Fräkmüntegg, a northern spur of the Pilatus. The spectacular slope leads through beautiful woods down to Krienseregg (3 km/2 miles). Thanks to the gondola station at Krienseregg, tobogganers can use this section as many times as they like.

There is also a blue toboggan run for those who want to take it a little easier or are accompanied by children. It is 4.8 km (3 miles) long and starts and ends at the same point as the more demanding red run. In comparison, however, it is less technically challenging and is particularly suitable for anyone who prefers a more leisurely ride.

Toboggan Hire

Guests can choose from various toboggan models at the Fräkmüntegg summit station at 1,416 meters (4,646ft) above sea level. Classic-style toboggans, Zipfel bobsleds und airboards are all suitable for this run.

Catering Facilities Nearby

At both the beginning and the end of the toboggan run, hungry tobogganers can find some great family restaurants offering simple snacks or traditional Swiss cuisine.

Special Remarks

With a Snow & Fun day or half-day pass, winter sports enthusiasts can use the gondola from Kriens to Krienseregg and Fräkmüntegg as often as they like.
