Cross-Country Skiing in Amden

High above the small village of Amden, winter sports fans can enjoy cross-country skiing on 7 kilometers (4 miles) of trails.

Ski Area

The around 7 kilometers (4 miles) of cross-country ski trails lead from Arvenbüel through snow-laden woods, over small wooden bridges and across open fields with beautiful views of the stunning mountain panorama around Lake Walen. It is well worth taking a short break at the Chapf vantage point, where you are treated to a beautiful view of the lake 800 meters (2,625 feet) further below.

Trails

Chapf Loop Trail
This 2.5 km (1.5 mile) circuit trail is particularly well suited for novices, for the track – which is prepared for both the skating and the classic style of skiing – is virtually free of elevation.

Hinterstock Loop Trail
Proficient cross-country skiers can opt for the more demanding, 4 km (2.5 mile) Hinterstock circuit. However, this route is only groomed for classic skiing.

Special Remarks

The two loop trails can also be easily combined to form an almost 7 km (4 mile) long route. Use of the cross-country trails is fundamentally free of charge; however, the operators welcome a contribution towards costs.
