Late-Night Shopping
The pre-Christmas season begins in Zurich on November 21, 2024, when the Christmas lights known as “Lucy” are switched on at 6pm precisely. This is followed by late-night shopping in the city center. All those looking for that special Christmas gift can browse at the participating stores until 9pm.
Sunday Shopping at Advent
Many stores in Zurich's city center are additionally open on three Sundays in Advent:
December 1, 2024: 11.00am – 6.00pm
December 8, 2024: 11.00am – 6.00pm
December 22, 2024: 11.00am – 6.00pm
New Year Shopping
January 2 is a public holiday in many parts of Switzerland. Nevertheless, numerous stores in central Zurich are open until 8pm and invite visitors to enjoy their first shopping spree in the new year.

Stores are generally open from Monday to Friday, between 9 am and 6 pm; on Saturdays and before local public holidays, many already close at 4 pm. Sundays and public holidays are days of rest. Only stores at Zurich Main Station, Zurich Airport, and gasoline stations are open on these days. |
